To deal with excessive, obsessive, or constant worrying, follow the guidelines given below:
- Solve your problems as they arise. Don’t be anxious either about the past or about the future! Think about today; solve what should be solved at this moment. And it doesn’t mean that you don’t care about the future. Just the opposite: if you live this day well, it will be a pledge of future happiness. Say to yourself each morning that today you will do your best to extract all the good out of this day – after all, you will be able to live it only once!
- Think what can happen if worst comes to worst. If you are worried about one or another situation, think – what can happen in the worst-case scenario? Is it really so horrible, and is it worth worrying about so much? Prepare to calmly accept any consequences and seek a way to improve the situation;

- Clearly define your goals. You should be acutely aware what you want out of life. In this case, you will have far less issues for concern – because aimless existence makes it impossible to find peace of mind;
- Learn to solve problems efficiently. Start with writing down all that worries you and setting priorities. Then, opposite each problem, write down what you can do, plan when you will do it – or start solving the problem immediately. Enter everything you have to do in a day planner and strike out a problem as soon as you have solved it – it will save you worry caused by confusion and by fear of tons of work to do (you will see that, in point of fact, those tons of work always turn out to be not as frightful as they seem);
- Busy yourself with something interesting. If you are accustomed to worry about nothing, try to occupy yourself with something interesting. Every minute you spend should be filled with some activities so that you merely have no time to think about any different sorts of things. Read, dance, take pictures, play games! Focusing on just one thing, you won’t be able to worry over trifles;
- Evaluate things and situations correctly. Most people pay too much for many things. But something that seems valuable and important to you now will most likely depreciate in the course of time – so, is it worth getting upset about?
- Get rid of guilt. If you think that people who don’t worry about nothing are blatant egoists, then you are wrong;
- Accept your imperfections. We are humans, not gods, so none of us is ideal;
- Don’t be anxious about others’ opinions. Believe me, they don’t care what you do and how you do it, they are absorbed in their own affairs.
