Your obedient servant:-) did a little research to learn what people who practiced Kundalini yoga say on that subject. But before I tell you what they say, I will briefly describe this current of yoga, so that those who don’t know exactly what it is form a more or less clear picture of it. And in the end of the post I will recommend you an alternative method of becoming more free, flexible, calm, and happy.

So, Kundalini yoga (or Laya yoga) is all about awakening Kundalini energy. This energy is a primal energy located at the base of the spine. Its awakening is done in order to achieve spiritual enlightenment. It is interesting that this kind of yoga was influenced by the Tantra school (almost all of us heard about “tantric sex”), so Kundalini energy is perceived as, among others, the libidinal one. Methods that are used to awake this energy are meditation, breathing exercises (“pranayama”), chanting mantras, and yoga postures (asanas).
Now, to Kundalini experience people share on the internet. Those who practice this type of yoga say that there are the so called Kundalini awakening symptoms – signs that the energy one wants to raise from the base of the spine to the head (because it should flow just like that), starts rising. Those symptoms include:
- Experiencing something “other-worldly” (“divine visions”, strange smells, sounds, and tastes);
- Sensations in the “root chakra” (located in the pelvis);
- Involuntary rising of body hairs;
- You can stop breathing with no effort;
- Feeling currents of energy rising up the body;
- Getting blank mind (no thoughts);
- Feeling vibrations of energy in the body; getting involuntary jerks;
- When the meditation is over, the eyes don’t want to open;
- The body seems to be very light (“like air”);
- You are able to remain calm no matter what happens around you.
Apart from the list of symptoms, I would like to provide you with a coherent account of a yoga practicing person of his Kundalini experience. Here’s what he felt when his Kundalini energy “was awakened”:
He lay down on the blanket and started meditating. He relaxed; he had a deep sense of peace. All thoughts disappeared. And then the man suddenly felt how a gigantic wave of energy passed from the base of his spine upwards – towards the head, and out, into the cosmos. He compares this flow (or, to be more accurate, surge) of energy with a stroke of lightning. The relaxed body tensed, then went limp again. Such convulsions repeated seven times – he had seven Kundalini energy rushes. His “self” disappeared for some time, dissolving in the universe. When the man regained consciousness, he had a strange feeling – he felt as though “it was the first time he’d been infused into a physical body”. He looked in the mirror and asked his reflection: “Who are you?”
The man concludes his account saying that he started feeling far more “authentic” after this experience. His “life energy” began to move through his body much more freely.
And now, my dear friends, just as I promised at the beginning of this post, I want to recommend you a method that will help you achieve what can be achieved through Kundalini yoga – and even more. Using it, you can become more “authentic”, more free; you can get rid of anxiety, depression, and other nasty things of this kind; you can let go of control – in fact, you will be able to change yourself any way you want. To use this method, you should install on your computer a special program. This program will receive your instructions and then, through suggestion, will reprogram your mind according to them. This is a great tool for self-perfection and self-help. FOLLOW THIS LINK TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS UNIQUE TOOL.
